The Masdar 10 MW Solar Power Plant was the largest solar photovoltaic system ever constructed in the Middle East and North Africa when it was completed in 2009. The plant is incorporated into Masdar City, a zero-carbon city under construction in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The plant produces 17,500 MWh of clean electricity annually and offsets 15,000 tons of carbon emissions per year. A combination of 87,777 polycrystalline and thin film modules from Suntech and First Solar were employeed in the 220,000 square meter field. Enviromena is also executed plant operations & maintenance.
