Enviromena appoints clean energy entrepreneur as chairman

November 30, 2017

The directors of Enviromena are delighted to announce the appointment of international clean energy entrepreneur Adrian Pike as chairman.

Adrian Pike’s career within the energy, telecoms and renewables services sector spans over 30 years and started with one of the UK’s ‘Big Six’ energy companies, Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE), where ultimately, he was responsible for contracting, telecoms, micro-renewables, utility solutions, and datacentres across the UK.

Among the many highlights is his time founding and steering one of the UK’s fastest growing companies, Anesco. Renowned for leading the market, Anesco spearheaded the development of energy efficiency, renewables and energy storage in the UK and was named as one of the world’s top 100 clean tech companies for four consecutive years.

Founded in 2010, Anesco’s meteoric growth under Adrian’s leadership also saw the company ranked as number one in The Sunday Times Fast Track list two years in a row, as well as top of the newspaper’s Profit Track 100 in 2016.

Adrian retired from his role as CEO of Anesco in 2016 and now uses his unrivalled experience in business to guide other organisations through his P4 Consulting organisation. He remains passionate about clean energy projects. Adrian is an Industry Partner with investment firm Ancala and is a senior advisor to Zouk Capital, a private equity and infrastructure fund manager specialising in the sustainable economy. Adrian is also chairman of the UK’s fast-growing electric vehicle charging firm, InstaVolt. The company is installing rapid electric vehicles chargers across the UK and has a powerful multi-million-pound partnership with US charging firm, ChargePoint.

Enviromena has just been named Energy Provider of the Year at the prestigious 2017 MEED Awards. Recognised for the way it has brought solar power to millions of people over nine different countries, the company has installed 17,000 solar home systems and built more than 40 solar power plants since its inception 10 years ago.

Founder and CEO of Enviromena Sami Khoreibi said: “We are thrilled to have Adrian on board. His credentials speak for themselves. An entrepreneur by instinct, he marries his knowledge of the clean energy sector with his proven ability to implement growth strategies.”

Surinder Toor, Founding Partner of Arjun Infrastructure Partners (AIP), which has just acquired Enviromena to implement its strategy to deploy capital into renewable assets across the MENA region, said: “Adrian’s appointment complements perfectly the senior management team as we embark on the next exciting phase of Enviromena’s development. His experience will prove invaluable.”

Speaking of his Enviromena appointment, Adrian said: “Through my work with Zouk I have come to know Sami and the team well and I was delighted to accept the role of chairman. Going forward the sector and the region combined present Enviromena with huge possibilities and, crucially, the company is well positioned to be a significant owner of renewable assets. I’m very much looking forward to the opportunities that lie ahead.”
